Monkeypox Testing

Monkeypox is a viral disease from the same family of viruses as the variola virus, the virus that smallpox originates from. Monkeypox and smallpox have similar symptoms, however, monkeypox rarely results in death. Monkeypox symptoms typically appear within three weeks from the time of exposure, so if you have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus and are starting to experience fever, fatigue, headache, chills, swollen lymph nodes or other symptoms that are common with monkeypox diagnoses, our lab can provide you with a saliva RT-PCR test.

If you already are experiencing lesions or a rash that is consistent with a monkeypox diagnosis, we offer concierge testing where a licensed professional can come to your location to collect lesion swab specimens and bring them back to the laboratory for processing. If you have more than one lesion present, our staff will take swabs from each area.
